Craiglist works!

Few months back I gave an advertisement on Craiglist for yarns as these days yarn prices are really going up and I needed some reasonably priced yarns. I didn't got any response at once but a week back somebody responded to my ad and most surprising offered me the yarn free of cost. I was really overexcited to take the yarn from the owner, so fixed a place to meet her.
But my excitement got little dampen when I had a look, it were 10 skeins of Black,Lion Brand yarn.
Though the yarns were really soft but the colour didn't lit up any idea in my mind, so I did little internet surfing a yarns soon!nd came up with an idea of making a Black & White combo shawl for my mother-in-law with Shell stitch. Isn't the idea brilliant, I am really super excited to begin my next project and thankful to the lady for giving those yarns as well delivering it too.
So now I need to buy some white

New Avataar !

I just completed making poncho and a baby beanie so was not in a mood of doing any big project soon. It eventually aroused an idea of giving finishing touch to my old popcorn Granny Square bag, so I crochet closure for the bag as well sewed an inner lining and gave a new look to it. Oh yes you can also see in the picture that my money plant is really doing well !

Crochet flower button

I thought of embellishing my popcorn granny square bag.
So I crochet a multicolored flower button closure for my bag, with double crochet stitches.
This medium size five petal flower with a big button in the middle came out real pretty.
So have a look !

Baby Beanie

I made a baby beanie with the left over yarns of my previous poncho project and also to make it go along with the poncho.
It is a very easy pattern made of single crochet stitch with ruffle edge, the ruffle is created by 3 double crochet in one single crochet stitch.
I also attached a small two finger pom-pom on the top. It will be a nice winter gift for my nephew!

Poncho for my Nephew...

It was really a achievement for me when I worked out a baby poncho for my nephew. I tried to make it
colorful using multicolor yarn of Vanna's Choice Baby yarn at discounted rate. It was really a alluring
deal during the Halloween week,so I bought bag full of yarns for my future projects too. I used US 5.5mm
crochet hook to make this poncho and made basic chain of 72 to keep it little big and comfortable for a
16 months old as well used a necktie around the neck to tighten it up as required.
The project came out
real brilliant and yes I crocheted little scallop edges .
I had little hard time making those
pom-poms but finally did it.
I am really in love with this art of crocheting!
