Slider Greeting Card....

October is the beginning of different festivals around the globe. Here in India its time for Dussehra, when Lord Rama killed ten headed demon king Ravana.
Dussehra is followed by another auspicious festival Diwali, festival of lights or diyas.

And I think same is in US,where Halloween is around the corner, then Thanksgiving and then at the last but not the least Christmas.

Keeping in mind all these celebrations,I am trying my hands making various kinds of greeting cards.

Cards making is really fun thing to do and share with your loved ones!
And they never go out of fashion because birthdays are incomplete without a Birthday Card.

So to spice up a bit I tried making a slider card.

Here it is-

Cereal box minion cum Card Holder!

This is a new addition to my thrifty art.
I used a empty cereal box(cornflakes) to make a colorful minion.
This box was sitting beside my dustbin for day or two when i got an idea. So its really best out of waste.
It can be used as a greeting card holder or any kind of light weight document or envelope.
I used acrylic paint for bright colors.
Jar lids has been used for making big, bulging eyes.
I have also glued a piece of cardboard at the bottom to give it an extra strength.
Hope everybody enjoyed making of a minion!

Colorful Creation -recycled pen stand!

As I told earlier that I have been searching every nook and corner of my house for trash. Trash that can be used for something better rather than discarding.

So I found this chewed up sippy cup which I turned into a pen stand.
My son who is two and half years old and has mouth full of teeth loves chewing up silicone spouts,so i always prefer hard ones.

In order to make this vibrant pen stand-
I started wrapping some colorful floss around it as i was doing cross stitching lately ,so have ample floss stock.
And yes I used some adhesive to stick the floss to the cup.And then i painted the top and the bottom of the sipper. It is pretty easy and forgiving craft.

So go for it !

One more Thermocol painting...

My son is a hot air balloon fan since he saw Barefoot rhyme,"UP",when he was just 1.5 years old.
So his love for hot air balloons inspired me to make this amazing piece as well easy to make thermocol painting.

I painted the thermocol piece with blue and white watercolor which resembled wide open sky.

Then I made some hot air balloons and clouds out of cardboard and painted them.
Eventually glued them all.

Isn't it a wonderful idea!

After a time long I am blogging as I was little busy with relocation.
I would like to share my cardboard art.
It is completely made out of scraps mainly packing boxes.
It is very simple to make, very colourful and can add new look to your kids room.
I have drawn picture of a toy car and engine(as kids love train/cars.buses) and painted them with watercolors and glued it to a box.
